Thank you. A simple phrase compels me to fulfill the very reason I was created. To be a “thank you” to God.
I start listing blessings. This post takes a lifetime to read. Computers fail. Paper fails. Ink fails. Notecards fail.
Time fails.
I need something more permanent, more soul-felt, more inexhaustible.
I’ll use my heart.
To do what it was created to do- be a thank you to God!
I’ll use my heart to train two other little hearts to be thank yous to God.
Small Son and Tiny Daughter.
Does my example train them to be thank yous?
Or do my sometimes complaining words muddle the picture of praise in their hearts’ eyes?
Thank you is no longer a phrase. It is a life.
Not always an easy life- often a sacrifice.
The “sacrifice of praise” ~so the Psalmist shares with us.
It’s a life I embrace.
A life of thank you.
My heart is thank you by design of God.
But is thank you my heart?
I love this post! What a perspective shift when we allow gratitude to become a lifestyle and creep into our hearts and change us. Thank you for sharing your heart.
Thanks for stopping by, Shawna! Thankfulness as a lifestyle is a constant work in progress, isn’t it!?
I loved this post. Beautifully written.
Thank you Aprille. 🙂
I love “is no longer a phrase. It’s a life.”
Thanks for sharing.
