Yesterday I introduced my new site (thank you for all of your kind words!) Today I’m introducing myself to you, my readers. This is just a glimpse into the blessings of God’s grace in my life in the past few years.
Before you read the details about me, I want you to know something. I’ll whisper it…………………………………
I’m not “the perfect pastor’s wife!“
I have trials. Just like you do.
I have dreams. Just like you do.
I have struggles and burdens. Just like you do.
My life gets crazy sometimes. Just like yours does.
I’m a human….I’m a woman….just. like. you.
Now you know the most important thing you need to know about me. 🙂 But there’s more……
I’m an American living in Canada since 2005. Full time ministry has been my life for 6 of my 7 years in Canada. I have enjoyed serving God with my husband, Jonathan, as an assistant pastor’s wife, an interim pastor’s wife, a senior pastor’s wife, and an assistant pastor’s wife again (in 2 ministries and in that order!)
I’m a lover of scented candles, fresh flowers, fabric softener. Rainbows thrill me, as do second-hand stores, organic foods, bookstores, and glitter. I dream of owning a Steinway baby grand someday, and I’m quite sure that God created the color purple just for me. I’m fascinated by science and I love the scent of printers ink (yes, I inhale the center of just about every book I pick up!)
The many hats I wear:
I’m blessed to be an HG survivor (read about it here) and ‘Mummy’ to two children, Caleb (6) and Charity (4). They keep smiles on our faces and laughs in our hearts.
I am endeavoring to be homeschooling mom to our first grader. We use the ABeka video school program. First grader keeps me constantly asking God for wisdom as I find my way in this relatively new venture.
I enjoy my hobby as a weekly private piano instructor to a group of students in my home studio, Piano Playground. (I blog there, too!) They keep me continually educating myself and deepening my love for all things musical.
In our church I serve as church pianist, which means that each week I get to enjoy the fruit of a dream I had since I was a little girl. Playing on a grand piano tops the dream off in a big, God-given way.
Most importantly, I am daughter to the King. He keeps me always learning His heart and living in awe of His never-ending gift of grace in my life. My prayer is that you will enjoy embracingrace.com as a haven of encouragement to your own heart. Please contact me if there is any way I can help you on your journey of embracing God’s grace.
Nice to meet you, Leah. 🙂 Keep up the good work on your site!
🙂
