Dear Pastor’s Wife,
Psalm 62:8 “Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
I know that you have very few people that you can pour out your heart to. Leadership can be a place of loneliness. {I know that you don’t want to be reminded of that.} Likely you’ve experienced broken trust and betrayal from someone you called friend. It happens. And we learn to be transparent with everyone, but vulnerable with only a few. In a sense, we learn the hard way.
I’m so happy to be able to remind you today about the only Friend Who will never betray or devastate you.
With God, there is no “Uh-oh, I learned the hard way.”
He is a safe place to pour out your heart. I can almost hear Him begging you to pour it all out to Him!
Something that has blessed me during tough times in ministry is getting on my knees and just telling God everything on my heart, as it comes to mind. Say it all out, lay it all out, pour it out. Out Loud. {Ahem…you might want to be in a secret place when you do this!}. But ladies, guess what? I feel incredibly relieved and very much validated after I do this type of exercise in prayer. There is just something special about choosing to put all the stuff into His control.
You won’t ever regret pouring your heart out to God. He already knows what you need to say to Him. He’s just waiting to hear it from you. Pour it out as a beautiful offering before Him. He will delight in it…in YOU.
XOXO,
A Kindred Spirit
P.S. I’m praying that God will send you a special earthly friend.
I can’t tell you how timely this is! I was just talking (crying) to my husband about this a few minutes ago. I KNOW He’s there and listening. Friday was a hard day, since then He’s given me the same message through different avenues multiple times.
Christi, I’m so glad God used my feeble words to encourage you! Praying for you today…stay strong. 🙂
