{Day 3}: Encouragement During Times of Struggle

31DaysofPraying4YourPastor

Key Word/Phrase: Encouragement During Times of Struggle

Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 4:8-10

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be manifest in our body.”

Prayer Guide for Church Members:

“God, I ask for encouragement for my pastor that comes straight from Your heart. When he is troubled, let him settle his heart in You and not be distressed. When he is confused, let him run to You for wisdom knowing that You have the answers to every need, and he need not despair. When he is criticized, falsely accused, or hurt, remind him that although people may forsake him and his ministry, You are with Him always. Let Him sense Your presence. When he is discouraged, lift him up and keep him from giving up.  Draw him close to Yourself so that You are his first and only source hope.  As he does this daily, let his life manifest Yours in a way that is unmistakable to others. God, I ask for encouragement for my pastor that comes straight from Your heart. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Prayer Guide for Pastors’ Wives:

“God, I ask for encouragement for my husband that comes straight from Your heart. When he is troubled, let him settle his heart in You and not be distressed. When he is confused, let him run to You for wisdom knowing that You have the answers to every need, and he need not despair. When he is criticized, falsely accused, or hurt, remind him that though people may forsake him and his ministry, You are with Him always. Let Him sense Your presence. When he is discouraged, lift him up and keep him from giving up. Draw him close to Yourself so that You are his first and only source of hope. As he does this daily, let his life manifest Yours in a way that is unmistakable to others. God, I ask for encouragement for my husband that comes straight from Your heart. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
