If You Have Lost A Child… {Book Review and Giveaway}

Some of you may remember a few years ago when missionaries Matt and Lana Cretzman lost their little 3 year old girl in an automobile accident.  I watched the live streamed funeral service and it greatly impacted me. Since then, I’ve been blessed to be able to follow their story and watch God turn something tragic {from the human perspective} into something good for their family and for so many others. In memory of little Azlynn, the Cretzmans have put together a book called “Azlynn Noel: The Girl Who Found Her Castle.” Here is a sneak peek at what the inside looks like:

Matt was kind enough to send me a digital copy of the finished book for review, and I found it to be so precious! There is even a page for parents who have had miscarriages. One of the things I love about this book is that it is crafted to minister to people of all ages, both Christian and non Christian. It is colorful and attractive as well as informative and comforting. If you read it, you will be blessed. Here is the official promo video for the book- it’s just over a minute long and worth your time to watch:

Matt has graciously agreed to give away a digital copy of his book to one of my readers. Just leave a comment at the bottom of this blog post, and you will be entered to win the book!

If you would like to give financially to support the Cretzman’s book project, click here. You can pledge any amount at the kickstarter site, and it will enable the book to be published in English and eventually in Spanish. I know that the Cretzmans deeply appreciate every cent of support!

  1. We’ve been following the Cretzman’s since the accident as well. What a powerful testimony they have had. When I read that he would send copies out to bloggers to do a review of his book I thought of you & wondered if you’d be doing one! We would love to win a copy!! 🙂

  2. Have been praying for this family daily. I to watched the funeral and was touch by it. Would love a copy of the book 🙂

  3. What a testimony. They are a true example of using the hard times to bring glory to God. I am humbled and amazed. May God bless them and their ministry.

  4. I watched the funeral and follow the family very closely. What a testimony they have. Continued prayers for their family. I’m so glad this book has come about!

  5. I have had the privilege of meeting Matt, Lana and Maddie and instead of trying to be a blessing to them, they were a blessing to me. We have followed the Cretzman’s since Februrary 20, 2012 and each day I have blessed by their testimony. I cannot wait to finally read the book everyone has been waiting so long to see published.

  6. What a testimony of Gods Grace this family has been. Would love to win a copy of this book. I’m sure my girls would love it!!

  7. I lived in NC not far from where the accident happened and have followed them since that time. What an amazing testimony they have been!! I can hardly wait to see this book and share it with my grandchildren!

  8. I first met Matt many years ago when he had just entered Bible College…..young, energetic and on fire! ( He still is 🙂
    Now, these years late,r I am so thankful to have had the honour of watching God mold Matt & Lana into beautiful vessels of service for Him…. lives touched deeply by heartache….transformed by God’s grace as they allowed Him to turn this trial into a triumph for God’s Glory!!
    I KNOW this wonderful book is all a part of this miraculous journey God is leading them on, and will reach many lives with the gospel of salvation!

  9. Reading through this article sparked my interest as we just lost our little girl a couple weeks before she was to be born. We haven’t personally met the Cretzman’s but they are ministering about 3 hours away from us here in the DR and yes, their testimony and love for the Lord continues to live on as they serve here.
