Prayer Guide for Church Members:

“God, give my pastor true rest during his time off.  When he has the tendency to work too much, remind him of Your desire to give him rest in both body and soul. Help him to set aside the burdens of his heart, the racings of his mind, and the worries of his life. Help him to give those things to You, and in turn receive quietness of a soul fixed on You, and the confidence of thoughts established in Your Word. Teach my pastor how to ‘let his hair down’ and laugh; show him the value of playing with his children, and of developing hobbies and interests that are not ministry related. Strengthen his marriage during his times of relaxation. Enable him to get away from time to time without feeling guilty. Refresh him in those times- let those be the moments that renew his vision and passion for You first, for his family secondly, and thirdly for his ministry to Your people.  God, give my pastor true rest during his time off. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
