Dear Pastor’s Wife,
Psalm 102:27, “But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.”
Such a tiny phrase, yet what a deeply profound and life changing promise! We don’t naturally want our life to change, do we? We resist what it takes to get where we want to be spiritually. And practically, we long for stability and a measure of constancy in our pendulum-swing-like ministry lives. We settle into the relief of a new normal, only to realize that God is shaking things up again.
And….no. Just no.
We can’t bear the thought of getting on that roller coaster again. But what if we said a final goodbye to the dream of earthly stability and said an eternal hello to “Thou art the same?”
In the midst of family problems…Thou art the same.
When drama seems never ending…Thou art the same.
When a single meeting changes your future…Thou art the same.
When expectations crowd in…Thou art the same.
When transition leaves you feeling lost…Thou art the same.
When life looks nothing like you imagined…Thou art the same.
When friends turn against you…Thou art the same.
When financial burdens mount…Thou art the same.
It’s never going to change- this wonderful and constantly available Source of stability.
Today, tomorrow, forever….You can count on it. So, embrace the change.
XOXO,
A Kindred Spirit
P.S. You have a lovely smile!
